On a fresh morning at Cupids, SCF and West Leigh played out another high scoring game in the SCFL. Fresh from a 10 goal thriller with Shoebury, SCF beat West Leigh 7-4 to top the SCFL table going into December.
In a frantic opening, West Leigh missed two guilt-edged chances to take the lead and SCF made them pay with clinical finishes from Barrett and Oldfield to establish a 2 goal lead. West Leigh fought back but couldn't get past Broad in the SCF goal and SCF took full advantage with 2 set piece goals from Fellows and Crook extending their lead to 4-0 at HT.
SCF continued to press forward in the second half with both Green and Crook finding the bottom corner to put the game to bed after another SCF set piece goal from Giordimaia.
At 7-0 down West Leigh could easily have folded but to their credit staged a late fightback scoring 4 goals in the final 10 minutes - Iles finishing sweetly and Taylor bagging a fine late hat-trick.
It proved no more than consolation though as SCF held on to win but the final result fairly reflected the end-to-end nature of the whole game.
